Headstone Repair & Full Memorial Restoration
London's oldest cemeteries harbour thousands of headstones in need of repair — leaning dangerously, cracked through decades of freeze-thaw, or simply sunken and unstable. Structural work is a different discipline from cleaning: re-erecting a leaning headstone, resetting a kerb set, or repairing a cracked plinth all affect whether a memorial is safe to stand near, not just how it looks. The British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM), the industry accreditation scheme set up in 2004, exists precisely for that reason — its aim is a recognised, uniform standard of workmanship meeting British Standard BS 8415 in burial grounds across the UK, the same standard cemetery authorities use to judge whether a memorial has been fixed correctly. Our memorial restoration team works to that standard on every structural repair — re-erection, kerbset repair and stabilisation — carried out safely and sympathetically rather than patched over, because a headstone that looks repaired but isn't properly fixed is a hazard the next visitor to that grave will inherit.
