Edmonton Federation Cemetery on Montagu Road is a Jewish burial ground established in 1889 by the Federation of Synagogues Burial Society — a different cemetery from the council-run Edmonton Cemetery nearby. With burial records back to 1890, many headstones here are well over a century old, so lichen, soiling and settling stonework are common. Memorial Guardian London’s cleaning follows Jewish memorial customs and is entirely stone-safe.

About Edmonton Federation Cemetery

Edmonton Federation Cemetery was established in 1889 by the Federation of Synagogues Burial Society on land donated by Samuel Montagu, the banker, philanthropist and MP after whom Montagu Road is named. Over 36,800 burial records survive from 1890 to August 2015. Several prominent rabbis, including Rav Eliezer Gordon of Telz, are buried in the western section, making it an active pilgrimage destination.

Access: The cemetery is run by the Federation of Synagogues Burial Society. It sits within an Enfield conservation area, and as a working Jewish cemetery, memorial work should follow Jewish burial customs and the burial society’s own rules.
