Edgwarebury Cemetery on Edgwarebury Lane, Edgware, is a Jewish burial ground established in 1972 and shared by four progressive and Sephardi communities. With sections dating from the 1970s through to a newer woodland burial area, memorials range from traditional stone to simpler markers. The site holds Green Flag status, so grounds standards are high — any cleaning must be stone-safe and follow the cemetery’s own memorial rules.
About Edgwarebury Cemetery
Edgwarebury Cemetery was established under a trust dated 25 July 1972 and is shared by four communities — the Spanish & Portuguese Jews’ Congregation, West London Synagogue, Liberal Judaism and Belsize Square Synagogue. Further land was added east of Clay Lane in 2010, and West London Synagogue created a woodland burial area in 2014. Amy Winehouse is buried here, in the Liberal Judaism section.
Access: The cemetery is run by the Edgwarebury Joint Burial Board on behalf of its four member communities. Memorial rules follow progressive Jewish practice, which allows a wider range of stone types than more traditional sections.

No. Edgwarebury Cemetery, run by the Edgwarebury Joint Burial Board since 1972, sits on one side of Edgwarebury Lane and serves the Spanish & Portuguese, West London Synagogue, Liberal Judaism and Belsize Square communities — this is where Amy Winehouse is buried. The Edgware Federation Cemetery, for the strictly Orthodox Federation of Synagogues, is a separate, newer ground on the same lane, opened in 2021. The two share the postcode HA8 8QP but are run by different burial authorities.
